Minced Beef Recipe with no Mince Meat

Did you read the subject properly?. You must be saying to yourself: "I'm sure this woman has lost her mind!" How on earth can you have a ground beef recipe minus the essential parts?"

Well the answer is actually basic: This recipe begun off as regular but then I realized that the meat I paid for about an hour before had a real moldy reek after removing it out of the container. That beef finished up in the waste can but I had friends on the way, All my other prep handiwork were done and no minced meat. I had to make another plan.

Sweet peppers, chopped onions, white button mushrooms, yellow corn, chopped-up half cooked potato pieces, thick sliced tomato, thin carrot sticks salt and lemon pepper, fresh mustard, chopped garlic flakes, real butter (you can also use margarine) and a beef stock cube was al lying ready for use on my table but I had no beef to use and I had visitors coming to visit me. Catastrophe mode kicked in. I almost panicked and I knew I had to do something and I had to do it on the double.

It was at the last minute and not within my local butcher's business time so I could not get new meat that day. I had to make a plan. Now, I'm sure you all know what meal substitutions are. There are plenty of them and lots of reading material published about the subject and it's a widely known fact that you can alternate ground beef with ground soy beans or other mince meat, but I chose not make use any of those well known substitutiins. .

And while I'm on the subject of food replacements, here's a list of the things you can apply in your kitchen:

Dried Basil = Parsley, thyme or oregano.
Long-grain white rice = Basmati rice.
Bourbon = Whiskey
Savoy Cabbage / Chinese Cabbage / Green Cabbage = Brussel Sprouts
Capers = Chopped green olives
Cayenne pepper = Hot red pepper / chilli powder
Bean sprouts / Green pepper = Celery
Green onion tops / leeks / onion powder = Chives
Mint = Basil
Cognac or Whiskey = Brandy
Morel Mushrooms = Matsuke / Oyster mushrooms
Mineral water = Club soda
Tumeric with dash of red pepper = Paprika
Sherry=Port
Rabbit = Chicken
Ground beef = ground turkey / ground pork / ground veal / ground lamb (I did not use any of these)

Ok so where was I? Oh yes, the soy beans... I was not in the mood for soy beans, pork, veal, lamb nor turkey so I had to think up a distinct plan.

can you guesswhat I have used in the place of my overripe ground beef? I have posted a link to the answer in my signature. Click on the link in my signature to see my Ground Beef (without the ground beef) Recipe for a nice twist. I assume that I am going to use less of my meat and make more use of this not so secret ingredient. The result tasted exorbitantly nice. I challence you to try it out for yourself and let me know what you think about this recipe.

Would you make your friend pay for your off road vehicle if they rolled it?

We went off roading with a friend, and were riding on his quads. My husband rolled the quad about 5 minutes before we left for the day. The quad actually looks really good, minus the scratches on the fenders, and hand protectors. Our friend is insisting that we pay to have his quad put back into mint condition. We know that my husband was being a dork, and shouldn't have rolled the quad, but seriously IT IS AN OFF ROAD VEHICLE!! DUH, isn't it going to get some scratches eventually?? What would you do? Are we being rude for not wanting to pay for the small damage?
We did offer to fix it, and we actually plan on fixing it. We are just shocked and suprised that a "friend" would be so shallow. We would say, "hey don't worry about it!"

My husband is in worse shape than the stupid ATV.

Both are being silly. He should expect some damage eventually and he did let you all ride. But then again , it is his and you all should feel bad for messing it up and probably should have offered to fix it.
